CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Army West Point senior Kelsey Minato and Colgate freshman Mylah Chandler were named the Lids Team Sports Patriot League Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week for their performances during the fifth week of the 2015-16 season. Minato helped the Black Knights to their fourth and fifth-straight wins of the season in addition to becoming the first player in program history to surpass 2,000 career points, while Chandler chipped in a total of 16 points and was 8-of-12 (.667) from the field last week for the Raiders as she continued to see significant playing time.

LIDS TEAM SPORTS PATRIOT LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KELSEY MINATO, ARMY WEST POINT
Sr., 5-8, G, Huntington Beach, Calif.
Over the course of the two games last week, Minato shot over 50 percent from the field (.581) and from the three-point range (.565) to help Army West Point to a pair of road wins. The 74-35 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn and 71-35 win over NJIT were the fourth and fifth-straight wins for the Black Knights, improving their overall record to 8-1 on the season. After hitting a season-high 30 points and Academy-record tying eight three-pointers on Tuesday against the Terriers, Minato contributed 22 points, including five three-pointers, and tied a career-high four steals against the Highlanders on Friday. More impressively though, the senior’s first basket against NJIT -- a trey just 1:29 into the game – marked a milestone for Minato. She joined just three other players from Army that reached the elite feat of 2,000 career points, becoming the first from the women’s program to do so.
